Programme Overview

Programme Overview

The aim is to provide an introduction to sustainable building design and in particular approaches on how to achieve Nearly Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standards, addressing building fabric, air tightness, ventilation and appropriate integration of renewable energy systems. The programme focuses on the residential sector, assessing the changes to the building regulations and how circular and digitalisation should be considered in the design and construction of buildings. This programme, will specifically deal with passive solar and sustainable building design, air-tightness/ventilation, renewable energy and micro-generation systems.

The programme is targeted at architects, engineers, surveyors, contractors and others involved in the building sector. Participants will develop an outline design for a new and retrofitted building with the aim of achieving a Near Zero Energy Building.

The programme is delivered online with two in-person practical workshops or site visits.
