The aim of the Certificate in Residential Energy Retrofit Systems programme is to up-skill building services professionals to develop knowledge and skills that allow them to design and deliver high quality, energy efficient service systems for retrofitting existing buildings while complying with Ireland’s latest Building Regulations.
This will also place them in a position to contribute to meeting Ireland’s climate action and energy targets in relation to green retrofitting of buildings. It will additionally boost demand for energy efficiency from householders and the public sector – Government and the public – by having a trusted industry professional/standard.
Over 12 weeks, the student will understand how to apply appropriate design processes and methodologies for heating, DHW and ventilation and appraise these within the context of smart buildings, whilst finding solutions using digital tools to ensure compliance.
